We’re told to eat this but not that to be healthy. If we want to be happy, we should do that but not that. We grew up being taught that success in life is important and looks a certain way. We receive all kinds of instructions about ourselves and our lives. In the end, we wonder how it all fits together. We’re not taught about what it means to be a whole, healthy, balanced person. My book, The Integrated Self, is a step toward gaining a better understanding of leading a balanced life. The Integrated Self considers important aspects of our lives, how to understand the relationship among those aspects, and presents a working model.
